A vascular endoprosthesis or stent makes it possible to perform minimally invasive procedures to solve vein or artery problems.

Stents are small, self-expanding devices that are inserted into blood vessels via a catheter. Once the catheter is removed, they have a metal or other material structure, which opens and provides the necessary support to keep the veins or arteries functioning normally.

Nano commissioned us to develop packaging for the Endovascular Eagle stent. It included a thermoformed tray in sterilizable PET protected with surgical grade paper and a box for its correct transport, use and conservation.

The shape of the packaging made it easier to handle the stent. Its small size improved storage and practicality.

It’s important to note that hospital products used only in the operating room must follow strict rules for use defined by Anvisa. For example, they must be protected with surgical-grade paper. Only the doctor or his assistant can remove this protection from the packaging at the time of surgery. In this way the product, in this case an endovascular stent, remains sterile until it is implanted in the patient’s body.
